How do you get Zevran cameo?

I assume that you are asking about Dragon Age 2. If so, then during Act 3 (after the qunari problem is taken care of) there is a mission where you have to track down a "dangerous assassin", called A Murder of Crows. Zevran makes an appearance during this mission. Obviously, this is only possible if Zevran survived DAO.
